Who Are We

Helping Children Smile is a volunteer organisation based in Australia, that raise money to travel to the Philippines each year, to undertake cleft lip and palate surgery on children in rural areas. This treatment is not available to indigent people due to poverty and lack of access to specialist surgery.

The operations are undertaken by a medical team, consisting of both doctors and nurses, that volunteer their time and skills to perform this surgery. These medical missions are at no cost to the recipient or their families, and occur for two weeks each February. The areas visited so far are -

- Urdaneta, Pagasinan

- Olongopo

- Gua Gua, Pampanga

- St.Cruz, Laguna.

To date, more than 400 children have had this life changing surgery.
